Triangle is a small Prince William community adjacent to Quantico, with a mix of older housing and newer development along the Route 1 corridor.
Describe the symptom and roughly when the house was built. That pair narrows most Triangle calls before anyone drives out.
Local pattern
The building pattern here decides which failures are likely, and that changes the first question.
The failures that turn up most in Triangle are fixtures worn out by a duty cycle several times ordinary domestic use. None of that is a prediction about your house specifically. It is what the local building pattern makes probable, which is why the age of the house is the first thing we ask.
Route 1 corridor housing, with a substantial rental share and the deferred maintenance that tends to come with it. Recent infill built to current code sits directly beside houses two generations older.
Housing eras, water supply, soil and freeze exposure across the wider region are set out in full on our Northern Virginia page. This page covers what is specific to Triangle.

Whether it is one fixture or all of them. A single slow drain or weak tap is a local fault; the whole house behaving badly is a pressure, pipe or line problem, and they are different visits.
The street and the symptom are enough to start narrowing it down.
Common problems
What the common local symptoms usually turn out to be.
| You notice | Usually means | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Low pressure at every tap | A regulator, the service line, or old supply pipe | Water pressure regulator |
| A stain spreading on a ceiling | A supply fitting failing inside the floor structure | Leak detection |
| More than one drain slow at once | A line problem rather than a fixture problem | Drain cleaning |
| Drains slowing in a kitchen that trades | Grease coating the line, not a blockage | Hydro jetting |
| No hot water, or not enough of it | A heater fault, or a capacity mismatch | Water heater repair |
| Sewage backing up | A main line blockage. Stop using water | Emergency plumbing |

In practice
Detail on two local questions that are hard to cover properly over the phone.
In most commercial buildings the isolation valves have never been catalogued, and a good number of them no longer turn. The consequence only shows up in an emergency: a failure on one fixture becomes a shutdown of the entire building, because nobody can isolate any smaller section with confidence. That converts a two-hour repair into a day of closed premises, which in most trades costs far more than the plumbing.
The fix is unexciting and permanent. Have every valve located, labelled, exercised and recorded on a simple riser diagram; replace the ones that have seized; and add isolation where a wing, a floor or a tenancy currently has none. Keep the diagram where staff can find it out of hours, and exercise the main valves annually so they still work when needed. It is a scheduled half-day that most buildings have never had, and it changes what every future incident costs.
The material under the front garden depends almost entirely on when the line was laid, and each type fails in its own way. Galvanised steel closes up with internal rust and starves the house of flow. Copper, common mid-century, is generally excellent but corrodes from outside in aggressive soil, producing pinholes. Polybutylene turns up on service lines from the late seventies to the mid-nineties and is prone to the same oxidative failure as the interior pipe. Modern polyethylene, laid in one continuous coil with no joints between meter and house, is the current standard and by far the most reliable.
Knowing which you have tells you what to expect and what to plan for. A jointless polyethylene line is not worth worrying about. A steel or polybutylene service line is on borrowed time, and replacement is a single day's work that can often be done by pulling a new line through rather than trenching the whole route. The meter test, everything off, watch the dial, is what catches the failure early either way.

Questions
Yes. Triangle is covered 24 hours a day, along with Vienna, Woodbridge, Springfield, Arlington, Quantico and the rest of Northern Virginia. If your address sits just outside Triangle itself, ring anyway; coverage is wider than any list of place names.
A large rental share where deferred maintenance accumulates until something fails outright. Recent infill built to current code directly alongside much older housing.
You are on a treated municipal supply in Triangle. It runs moderately hard. Noticeable as scale over years rather than as a problem needing treatment. Your utility also publishes an annual water quality report, which is free and worth reading before spending anything.
Manageable, but not to be ignored. Triangle gets enough freezing nights each winter to split an unprotected outdoor tap, and the damage usually surfaces in spring when someone opens it and the water goes into the wall instead of out of the spout.
Municipal collection serves Triangle. The line between your house and the main is your responsibility, and its condition is worth knowing before it announces itself.
Find your main shutoff and confirm it turns, then work out whether the problem is one fixture or all of them. That single distinction narrows most calls immediately, and a working shutoff is what limits the damage if something lets go.
In most cases yes. Emergencies, a burst pipe, sewage backing up, no water at all, are prioritised over scheduled work, and someone is reachable at any hour. For planned work such as a repipe or a water heater replacement, we will normally offer a slot within a few days.
