About us

We are the phone call, not the plumber

Nova Plumbing Connect is a referral service. One number connects you with an independent local plumbing professional who already works your county, 24 hours a day, anywhere in Virginia.

Say the street and the symptom. That is usually enough to narrow it before anyone drives out.

The model

What actually happens when you call

There are three parties in every job, and it is worth being clear about which one we are.

You call one number

You describe what is happening: the street, the symptom, whether water is still moving. There is no form to fill in and no queue to sit in, at two in the afternoon or two in the morning.

We match the job to a pro

We connect you with an independent licensed plumbing professional who covers your community and is available for the kind of work you need. Emergencies are prioritised over scheduled work.

They do the work

That contractor quotes the job, performs it, and warrants it. They are responsible for their licensing, their insurance, their pricing and their workmanship.

Being precise

What we are not

Plenty of sites in this category are deliberately vague about this. We would rather say it plainly.

We are not a plumbing contractor. We do not hold a contractor licence, we do not employ plumbers, we do not own vans or stock parts, and we never perform plumbing work ourselves. We are not a directory either — you are not handed a list of ten numbers to ring in turn.

What we do is answer the phone, understand the problem well enough to route it correctly, and hand it to somebody who can actually fix it. If the job is not plumbing — septic tank pumping, appliance repair, well drilling — we will say so rather than take the call and waste a day of yours.

Who is accountable for the work

The independent contractor who performs it. They set the price, they stand behind the repair, and any warranty is theirs. We can help you reach them again, but we are not a party to that agreement.

Why local

A plumber who already knows the street

Virginia is not one plumbing market. The same symptom means different things in different parts of the state, and that is the whole reason we route by community rather than by whoever is closest on a map.

Housing stock

The year a house was built matters more than its address

Polybutylene in 1980s Northern Virginia subdivisions. Galvanised and clay in pre-war Richmond and Norfolk. Slab-on-grade in newer Hampton Roads developments. Crawl spaces almost everywhere else.

Water supply

Municipal, well, or somewhere in between

Across the Piedmont, Shenandoah Valley and Southside, pressure tanks, pressure switches and iron staining are ordinary work. In the metros the pressure problem is usually a failing regulator instead.

Freeze exposure

The same cold snap, different failures

Western Virginia freezes harder and earlier. What bursts is rarely the pipe anybody insulated — it is the barn tap, the well house, the crawl space run nobody was heating.

Access

Reaching the pipe is most of the bill

On an older house the materials are cheap and the access is not. A plumber who works your area already knows whether your street sits on crawl space or slab, and whether the lateral out front is still clay.

Areas we cover

Six regions, 180 communities, with the local conditions written out for each.

Coverage

Statewide, at any hour

Somebody answers the phone around the clock, every day of the year.

Emergencies — a burst pipe, sewage backing up, no water at all in winter — are prioritised over scheduled work and are usually the first thing a plumber reroutes to. Planned work is normally scheduled within a day or two. In and around the larger metros same-day is normal; in smaller Piedmont, Shenandoah and Southside communities the drive is longer, so the honest answer depends on where you are and what else is running that day.

Overnight and holiday response costs more than a Tuesday morning appointment. You will be told that clearly before anyone is dispatched, and you get pricing before work begins.

If you smell gas, do not call us first

Leave the building, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Come back to us once the property is safe.

Any hour, statewide

Tell us what is happening

Covered 24 hours a day across all six Virginia regions. Emergencies are prioritised; planned work is usually scheduled within a day or two.
